eternityspring/shuohao-skills
shuohao-skills is an agent skill project by eternityspring on GitHub: Short-drama production skill set: character breakdown, adaptation outline, scene and prop art design, script, storyboard. It covers adaptation, characters, episodes, script and storyboard, and its README says it works with Claude Code and Codex. 4.7k stars, last updated 2026-10-15, Apache-2.0 license.
Editor's notes
Seven skills chain along a novel-adaptation pipeline: downstream skills read the JSON produced upstream, every step outputs JSON, Markdown and a single-page HTML review report, and novel-staging adds a top-down blocking view you can drag to adjust. All quality gates are deterministic Node script checks, 18 of them at the storyboard step. It needs Node 18+, with no npm dependencies and no API key; only character-refs actually generates images, through ComfyUI, Codex or the OpenAI image API. The install script supports Claude Code and Codex, and output is mainly in Chinese.

In the author's words
Agent skills for AI short-drama production: character breakdowns, adaptation outlines, scene and prop art bibles, screenplays and storyboards. Runs in Claude Code & Codex.
Translated from the Chinese original.

Names and descriptions come from each SKILL.md frontmatter; Chinese descriptions are shown in our English translation.
- character-refs
Actually generates reference images for characters from any story (novel adaptations, your own original stories, or a single standalone character; no novel text needed): describe the character in one paragraph, it is split into layered fields, completed and confirmed, a front full-body anchor is generated first, and every other view (headshot, 90° profile, back, details, 45° headshot) references only that anchor, generated in on-demand tiers. Every image is labeled and can be regenerated individually, and regeneration automatically flags which images are now stale. Supports Qwen Image (ComfyUI), codex's built-in image generation, the OpenAI Images API (GPT Image 2) and custom commands; master and derived images can use different models. Outputs asset.json + a set of PNGs + a report that opens with a double-click. Zero dependencies. For prompts only, without generating images, use nov…
- novel-art
Produces art bibles (scenes + narrative props) for AI short drama: for scenes, design intent, consistency anchors, time-of-day lighting variants and empty-set prompts; for props, dramatic function, state variants, scale references and white-background, no-hands prompts. Outputs art.json + Markdown + a single-page review report (with JSON export). Designed for AI generation, not live shooting: environments and props are generated assets, so what it delivers is a consistency plan that keeps them looking the same across episodes. All 10 quality gates are checked deterministically by script (3–5 anchors, no people or hands, white background for cutout, scale phrases, prompts in English…). If novel-outline's outline.json exists, seed pre-fills the scene list and the episodes each scene appears in. Zero dependencies, zero API keys, no image generation: what it delivers is prompts…
- novel-characters
Extracts a character list, character profiles, appearance prompts and voice prompts from a novel or short story; the appearance prompt includes full layout instructions for a character design sheet (half-body portrait on the left + full-body turnaround sheet on the right + detail strip). Outputs JSON + Markdown + an interactive report.html. Report language is configurable (--lang), Chinese by default, and any language is supported; zero dependencies, zero API keys, no image generation. Use when asked to "break down a novel's characters", "analyze characters", "generate character cards", or for character sheets from a novel.
- novel-outline
Adapts a novel into a five-part short-drama outline: adaptation notes, cast list, payoff-beat table, episode synopses and asset list. Outputs outline.json + Markdown + a single-page review report (KPI strip, key decisions, payoff-beat timeline, scheduling matrix, scene overview, quality gates). All 14 quality gates are checked deterministically by script (caps per character tier, a primary-scene cap that scales with episode count, payoff beats no more than 3 episodes apart, a required hook/cliffhanger in every episode…) rather than relying on the model's diligence. Supports a checkup mode: paste in an existing outline and it only runs the quality gates and returns a diagnosis. Zero dependencies, zero API keys, uses the current session's quota. Use when asked for an "adaptation outline", "short-drama outline", "outline breakdown", "novel to short drama".
- novel-script
Writes screenplays for AI short drama: turns novel-outline's episode synopses into structured scenes + a beat flow (action beats alternating with dialogue lines), with speaker and tone on every line and each episode's duration deterministically converted from speaking rate. Outputs script.json + Markdown + a single-page review report (duration gauge / episode scripts / scene master list / line book grouped by character, with JSON export). The screenplay handles the drama and the storyboard handles the shooting: this skill does not break down shots, has no shot numbers and writes no generation prompts; that is the job of the storyboard skill one layer down. All 10 quality gates are checked deterministically by script (episode duration within ±15%, each line ≤35 characters, valid speakers, the hook/cliffhanger on the page, the hook made concrete within the first 3 beats (hookBeat claims the cold open), each…
- novel-staging
Plans opening positions for every scene of an AI short drama: it first identifies things in the scene image that people can stand by or sit on (projected onto a top-down plan), then, following the screenplay, sets for each scene who is on which side of which object, sitting or standing, which way they face, and whether there are extras; the program writes an opening blocking sentence for each scene, which the storyboard copies verbatim into that scene's first segment. By default it delivers an HTML tool report where positions can be dragged to adjust, with staging.json exportable from the page; the JSON is also saved as working data, and Markdown is exported on request. All 8 quality gates are checked deterministically by script (number of objects recognized, objects actually in the image, exactly the right characters present, everyone present placed on a recognized object, no stacking on the same side, extras' positions stated…). Consumes novel-script's script.json and novel-art's art.js…
- novel-storyboard
Storyboards for AI short drama in three layers: segment (one video generation, ≤15 s) → cut (a 2–5 s cut within the segment that claims screenplay beats) → frame (one keyframe per cut: the master frame pinned at 0.00 s, sub-frames pinned at their own cut points). Each segment carries a MiniMax H3 video prompt (English by default per the official convention, one line per shot; promptLang switches it to Chinese): the alignment instruction and [Shot k] cut times are derived from the storyboard structure and reconciled word for word, and dialogue goes verbatim into <d> blocks (the writing rules are built in as references/h3-prompt.md, with no external skill dependency). Outputs storyboard.json + Markdown + a single-page review report (cut rhythm strip / episode storyboard tables / generation…
